Patient Participation Group

Patients at Hollow Way Medical Centre are setting up a Patient Participation Group in conjunction with the doctors and staff at the Medical Centre.

The aim of the group will be to make the practice the best it can be for all of us who use it, patients, medical staff and the administrative staff.

We are really keen to include as many patients as possible, of all ages and backgrounds. Everyone’s experience of health care will be different and we all have our views of how visits to the surgery could be made easier, better or clearer.

There will be regular meetings of the group, and we are very keen for as many patients to join the group as possible.  There will be a PPG section on the practice website where there will also be opportunities for ideas to be aired. Details of meetings will be advertised in the surgery and on the website.

We are also planning to talk to patients on their visits to the surgery. We may be able to offer help in using the computerised signing in screen which can be confusing. Once mastered it is a very useful tool and saves waiting in a queue at the reception desk.

One idea for the future is arranging for discussion groups on particular health topics, led by the medical staff. These meetings could be used to give advice, share ideas and keep everyone up to date on the latest developments for treatment.

Any thoughts will be welcome. If you would like to join the group, would like more information or have an idea to put forward, please get in touch at hollowwaymedicalpatientgroup@gmail.com

If you prefer not to use e-mail, please feel free to put your details or any suggestions or comments in the suggestion box in the waiting room.   If you would like to talk to an existing PPG member please include your telephone number in your e-mail and a member will contact you.
